IMO STATE GOVERNOR SAYS HE WILL RUN FOR PRESIDENCY AFTER HE LEAVES THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE

The Guardian reports that Okorocha made the confirmation in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Monday, April 10.

According to the report, Okorocha feels he is much better as Nigeria’s president than as governor of a state in the southeast region of the country.

Okorocha told journalists in Owerri that although he has made up his mind about running for Nigeria’s number one job, he would not run against incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari should he choose to run again in the 2019 presidential poll.

He said he would run for the position after President Buhari’s tenure ends.

He said: ”Governor does not fit me. What fits me is president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I will not contest against Buhari.”
